Washington Lottery “Department of Imagination”

Cirkus and World Famous Inc. blow minds for Washington Lottery

The talented folks at World Famous Inc., a Seattle-based production house asked us to perform some additional animation and VFX magic for the Washington’s Lottery “Department of Imagination” campaign. Under the watchful eye of Daredevil Chris Lyne, the troupe executed the required compositing and CG elements on shots from two spots – “Elevator” and “New Recruits”.

The “Elevator” spot sees a visitor to the Department of Imagination (DOI) take a tour. As the visitor and his guide go from floor to floor, they come across a variety of ways the DOI help people realise their dreams.

For ‘Pay My Bills’, ‘Spoil My Pet’, and ‘Become a Rockstar’, we created the environments and prop extensions and integrated the filmed elements with the CG. For ‘Get A New Boat’, we created the shot entirely in CG, including the necessary liquid simulation.

In “New Recruits”, eager additions to the Department of Imagination are put through their paces, getting trained to help “Washingtonians imagine bigger and better”.

At one point, an adventurous climber finds herself atop snowy peaks after a presumably very long escalator ride. For this shot, we integrated the filmed climber into a combined 3D/2D environment. Snow particles were also added to add to the scene’s atmosphere.
